Finding a Job

Unemployment is a current epidemic affecting people of all ages from various nations. Sociologists go so far as to say that unemployment is the new ‘shared human trait’. International Labour Organisation (ILO) has recently declared that over 1.3 billion people have lost their jobs worldwide in the last 12 months. Losing jobs, however, is just one side of the matter. In addition, there is the problem of the scarcity of jobs. With so many people looking for employment and a limited number of jobs available to them, only 2 percent are likely to find a full time job, according to the figures released by the United Nations Development Fund (UNDF). You can, however, be among the lucky 2 percent with a secure job if you dedicate your time and effort to the following key steps; locating a job you are interested in, writing a good CV, and improving your interview skills.

First of all, you should try to locate a job you are interested in. You should know your skills and after that look for a job. You can search on the internet about job advertisements or you can follow the newspapers’ job advertisement sections. In addition, you can sign in Recruitment Agency and get help from them.

Secondly, after locating a job, you should write a good CV that has should have a positive effect on employer. You should introduce yourself in terms of every skills you have and experiences you had. For instance, you can mention about your last work, languages that you know or your using computer programmes. You should not give any negative information about yourself on that CV. For example, if you did not do your military service cannot you use computer effectively, do not mention about them. Just write about positive things.

Lastly, after sending your CV, you should always be ready for an interview, because they can call you anytime. Before going to interview, you should do rehearsal at home as if you are in an interview. You should be relaxed and look self-confident in the interview. Do not look nervous and be determined to get the job. Writing a good CV is not enough, also you should introduce yourself effectively by your speech, too. You should speak fluently, accurately and self-confidently. Apart from preparing and speaking, you should wear official clothes like suitcase and dress and affect them with your out looking, too.

In conclusion, unemployment is a big problem in today’s world and it is really hard to find a suitable and a good job. If you want to be among the lucky 2 percent, you should dedicate your time and effort, and follow these important steps; locating a job you are interested in, writing a good CV and improving your interview skills.
